FROM PLATTSBURG, NY:
When you get off of the Ferry follow the road to the intersection of Route 2; you will see the Mobil Station and McKee’s Pizza on the right.  Turn right and continue East on Rt. 2 for about .8 (eight tenths of a mile). Watch for Sunset View Road on your right, take this right and continue for about a mile, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta’s entrance is on the left, marked by a stone sign.
FROM BURLINGTON, VT AREA:

Continue North from Burlington on Interstate I-89 and travel 9.2 miles. Take Exit 17, bear right and merge onto Rt. 2 West toward the Champlain Islands, travel 9.8 miles. Turn left onto Sunset View Road, this is the 3rd left after passing through the (small) village of South Hero – don’t blink! Continue one mile; Camp Ta-Kum-Ta’s entrance is on the left, marked by a stone sign.

    Shawn Fleury Raises Money for TKT at Thunder Road

     

    Hallstrom Motorsports, a late model racing team which fields the #1 Toyota Camry with driver Shawn Fleury are planning a season long charity fundraising campaign to support Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.

    The Kids Are #1 Fund is a fund set up by Hallstrom Motorsports to raise money for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a year-round camp for children who have or have had cancer here in Vermont and up-state New York.

    “Our goal is to raise $5,000 for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.  We are privileged to do what we do weekly at Thunder Road International Speedway, Barre, Vermont, and we want to share that experience with the Ta-Kum-Ta kids,” said Lisa Hallstrom. 

    The team is holding a raffle now to benefit Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.  The raffle is being drawn Sunday, August 17, 2014.  The prizes are a Ruger American 30-06 Rifle with Redfield 3-9 scope, two tickets to the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway September 21, 2014, two Boston Red Sox tickets, a Keurig Machine, two tickets to the Jay Peak water park, a gift pack from the Morse Farm Sugarhouse, a gallon of maple syrup and $250 cash.

    C.U.F.F Cancer Head Shaving Event

    Members of the Vermont Public Safety Community
    and other Community Organizations are encouraged
    to participate in this fund raiser as individuals
    or a group. With your support we have been able
    to make some substantial contributions to Vermont’s
    Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.

    To participate, you need to find donors who will
    pay to have your head, long-time beard or mustaches
    shaved. You must raise at least $100.00 to
    participate. We have even had several female officers
    participate, two of whom have had their hair
    cut at the event and donated it to "Locks for Love."

    What is important is that we raise funds for children
    living with cancer and have fun doing it! Grab
    some friends and engage in a little spirited competition-
    ALL FOR THE KIDS!

    Takes place at the top of Church Street in Burlington.
