Description of Mothers Program:

We are so excited to host our 3rd Annual MOMS Program!
 
During this weekend, we have great plans for mothers of children who have or have had cancer – we will offer these moms a relaxing weekend which will include spa treatments, relacation, pampering and discussion sessions. Walks and great food are also on the agenda. Each mother will also receive a wonderful Camp Ta-Kum-Ta tote bag and their very own Camp Ta-Kum-Ta spa robe. 
 
This weekend is being offered free of charge to all of our moms who have had a child attend our camp. However, space is limited to only 20 moms.
 
Population Served
Mothers who have had a child attend camp. Their child must be between the ages 7-17 and have or have had cancer and either lives in the State of Vermont or are treated in Vermont.
 
Program Length
One Weekend
 
Spa Treatment Volunteer Requirements:
Arrive at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta between 12:00pm and 12:30 to set-up
Bring all necessary equipment: Massage table, Massage chairs, oils, music, nail polish, foot soaks, etc.
Spa Treatments will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Each volunteer will give 4 treatments, each lasting 30 mins. 
For example if you volunteered to give massages, your afternoon would look like the following:
                                    1:00-1:30 PM Massage #1
                                    1:45-2:15 PM Massage #2
                                    2:30-3:15 PM Massage #3
                                    3:30-4:00 PM Massage #4

    Shawn Fleury Raises Money for TKT at Thunder Road

     

    Hallstrom Motorsports, a late model racing team which fields the #1 Toyota Camry with driver Shawn Fleury are planning a season long charity fundraising campaign to support Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.

    The Kids Are #1 Fund is a fund set up by Hallstrom Motorsports to raise money for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a year-round camp for children who have or have had cancer here in Vermont and up-state New York.

    “Our goal is to raise $5,000 for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.  We are privileged to do what we do weekly at Thunder Road International Speedway, Barre, Vermont, and we want to share that experience with the Ta-Kum-Ta kids,” said Lisa Hallstrom. 

    The team is holding a raffle now to benefit Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.  The raffle is being drawn Sunday, August 17, 2014.  The prizes are a Ruger American 30-06 Rifle with Redfield 3-9 scope, two tickets to the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway September 21, 2014, two Boston Red Sox tickets, a Keurig Machine, two tickets to the Jay Peak water park, a gift pack from the Morse Farm Sugarhouse, a gallon of maple syrup and $250 cash.

    10th Annual Better L8 Than Never Car Show

    Taking place at the Bristol Rec Field, the show is co-hosted by the Snake Mountain Cruisers and the Addison County Chamber of Commerce. We expect more than 200 vehicles and there will be trophies awarded in multiple categories. Vehicle registration costs only $10 (by 8/29; $15 after 8/29) per vehicle and as in the past, admission for spectators is free, however donations for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta are greatly accepted!
