Allenholm Farm & The People of South Hero
Each year South Hero plays host to some 35,000 people during Applefest in October. Our good friends Ray & Pam Allen offered their "Pick Your Own" orchard to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta. We charged a flat rate for each bag picked, with all proceeds going to camp. Ted "AppleCop" Kessler stalked the orchard, hitting up pickers for even more donations! Thanks Ray & Pam! And thanks Ted!
Tom Lazeterra Memorial Golf Tournament
On a crisp, cool Sunday in October, golfers from 24 teams gathered at the Woodstock Country Club to play for Camp. Along with two teams representing Camp TKT, over $13,000 was raised. To date, this event has raised over $163,000 for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta!
Dragonheart Vermont
For well over a year the hard-working volunteers of Dragonheart Vermont (the folks who hold the Dragonboat races each year) worked, sweated, and planned their magic for the Burlington waterfront. Their goal: to raise as much money as possible to help build the Activities Building at the New Camp Ta-Kum-Ta. Recently the good people of Dragonheart made their trek to South Hero to share the fruits of their hard work. And they brought along a little check. (Okay... it was a pretty big check! You should have seen Ted trying to fold it and put in his pocket!)
River Run Chamber Music
Camp Ta-Kum-Ta thanks Five Way Farms and Ken & Amy Rubenstein in Waitsfield for a magical and wonderful evening of music and fellowship. We enjoyed the music of Juilliard grad pianist Henry Kramer and cellist Elizabeth Chung. Thanks to all these fine and talented people, $21,000 was raised for camp!
The Blue Paddle Bistro
Thanks to South Hero's Blue Paddle for throwing a wonderful BBQ-Dance party for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta! Thanks to the X-Rays for rocking the afternoon away!
