SUMMARY:Our Traditional Summer Week - July 26\, 2020 through July 31\, 2020 has gone virtual.
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 25th\, 123 volunteers will gather on Zoom to conduct virtual team building\nand training in final preparation for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta’s signature summer program. This year\, it includes a Camper\nParade that will kick off Camp’s 36th year by delivering lawn signs that read “Camp is Home\, Ta-Kum-Ta Magic in\nProgress” along with a bag filled with goodies to the front lawns of every camper’s home across Vermont and upstate New York. Volunteers with decorated cars will safely blow horns and sing songs from a distance as all the\nmaterials needed for Camp’s virtual program get delivered to the camper’s front lawns. Inside the Camp bags they\nwill find specially designed Camp clothing\, arts and craft kits\, s’mores kits and much more – everything they need\nfor a full week of interactive online programs being facilitated by our creative volunteers.  Check out our Facebook to see what is happening during the week.  It should be a fun and exciting adventure.

SUMMARY:Camp Ta Kum Ta's Teen Weekend Exchange Program with Camp Rap-A-Hope - Mobile AL
DESCRIPTION:Two counselors and two campers from Camp Ta-Kum-Ta will be traveling to Camp Rap-A-Hope on February 21 – 23\, 2020.\n\n\nCamp Rap-A-Hope is an organization that provides a week-long summer camp in Mobile\, Alabama and is open to children between the ages of 7 and 17 who have or have ever had cancer. \nCamp is offered at no cost to the campers and their families as cancer has been costly enough. \nEach year children from all across the region enjoy a typical summer camp environment that includes swimming\, kayaking\, horseback riding\, arts and crafts and many other activities depending on the theme for the year. Many of these children have forgotten what it’s like to be a ‘kid’ because much of their childhood has been spent hearing the sounds and seeing the inside of hospitals. It is our privilege to give a part of their childhood back to them through a week of fun-filled camping activities. \nCamp Rap-A-Hope offers additional opportunities for “fun” throughout the year. Family fun days and Holiday parties are a few ways that Camp continues the fun for the Campers and their families. \nCamp Rap-A-Hope is a member of COCA-I (Children’s Oncology Camping Association\, International)\, whose mission is to strengthen the international community of camps for children with cancer and their families through networking\, advocacy\, education\, and other resources. Of the 84 pediatric oncology camp members of COCA-I\, Camp Rap-A-Hope is one of only 30 that have been awarded the Gold Ribbon Camp designation\, an honor bestowed upon camps which demonstrate a high level of commitment to serving children with cancer and their families. \n\nWe are so excited to see what this year brings!! \n

SUMMARY:Camp Ta-Kum-Ta's Summer Program
DESCRIPTION:Our signature program is a week-long summer session where kids partake in traditional camp activities such as swimming\, athletics\, ropes course and arts & crafts.   Camp Ta-Kum-Ta offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as rock climbing expeditions\, hot-air balloon rides\, formal dances as well as cruises on beautiful Lake Champlain. \nChildren ages 7-17 who have or have had cancer and live in the State of Vermont or are treated in the State of Vermont are eligible for this program. \nDoes your child have cancer OR in remission\, but not quite old enough to come to camp yet (under 7 years old)?
