Camp Ta Kum Ta’s Teen Weekend Exchange Program with Camp Rap-A-Hope – Mobile AL

Description

Two counselors and two campers from Camp Ta-Kum-Ta will be traveling to Camp Rap-A-Hope on February 21 – 23, 2020. Camp Rap-A-Hope is an organization that provides a week-long summer camp in Mobile, Alabama and is open to children between the ages of 7 and 17 who have or have ever had cancer. Winter Weekend – Oldest will take place on March 13-15, 2020.

Description

Our winter weekends are filled with all the fun and friendships of our summer residential program, but are only a weekend long and campers will have the opportunity to try great outdoor activities if they choose. Some of the activities will be: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating and sleigh rides. At winter weekend the campers will have a choice of an indoor and outdoor activity each hour.

Mom’s Retreat for our special moms – April 17-19, 2020

Description

During this weekend, we have great plans for the moms of children who have or have had cancer – we will offer these moms a relaxing weekend which will include spa treatments, relaxation, pampering and discussion sessions. Walks and great food are also on the agenda. We look forward to having our moms spend the weekend here at Camp.

Staff Development Weekend will be May 29-31, 2020

Description

Attendance at Staff Development Weekend (SDW) is a condition of volunteering for our traditional summer week, and all summer volunteers are required to attend SDW each year prior to their participation in our summer program.  Attendance at SDW is crucial for volunteer bonding and education that is required for optimizing our summer Camp program.

Our Traditional Summer Week – July 26, 2020 through August 1, 2020

Description

Our signature program is a week-long summer session where kids partake in traditional camp activities such as swimming, athletics, ropes course and arts & crafts. Camp Ta-Kum-Ta offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as rock climbing expeditions, hot-air balloon rides, train rides, formal dances as well as cruises on beautiful Lake Champlain.
